Perché mi piace Helen Frankenthaler, mi piace guardare i suoi dipinti senza titolo e vederlo apparire nella mente così, immediato e perfetto, per me. Perché Josef Albers mi ha insegnato la logica e la magia dell’accostamento dei colori. Perché amo la solitudine e il silenzio dei quadri di Edward Hopper. Perché mi piace e ammiro l’indomita Berthe Morisot. Perché amo i ritratti. E ancor di più la pittura di paesaggio dopo che cercando Cezanne ad Aix-in-Provence mi sono imbattuta in questa sua frase: “Per dipingere bene un paesaggio devo prima scoprire le forme geologiche…. La storia del mondo ha inizio dal giorno in cui due atomi si incontrarono o due vortici, due danze chimiche si composero insieme. Quei grandi arcobaleni, quei prismi cosmici, quell’alba di noi stessi al di sopra del nulla, io li vedo crescere, io me ne sazio leggendo Lucrezio. Sotto quella pioggia sottile respiro la verginità del mondo. Un senso acuto delle sfumature mi tormenta. Mi sento colorato da tutte le sfumature dell’infinito”.  Perché è un percorso artistico originale che si muove a ritroso nel tempo, dagli astrattisti americani agli impressionisti europei. Perché l’Impressionismo è il raggio meraviglioso dell’istante.

Because I like Helen Frankenthaler, I like to look at her untitled paintings and see it appear in my mind like this, immediate and perfect, for me. Because Josef Albers taught me the logic and magic of the combination of colours. Because I love the solitude and silence of Edward Hopper's paintings. Because I like and admire the indomitate Berthe Morisot. Because I love portraits. And even more so landscape painting after looking for Cezanne in Aix-in-Provence I came across this phrase of his: "To paint a landscape well I must first discover the geological forms.... The history of the world begins from the day two atoms met or two vortexes, two chemical dances were composed together. Those great rainbows, those cosmic prisms, that dawn of ourselves above nothing, I see them grow, I'm satied with them reading Lucretius. Under that thin rain I breathe the virginity of the world. A keen sense of nuances torments me. I feel coloured by all the shades of infinity". Because it is an original artistic path that moves back in time, from American abstractists to European impressionists. Because Impressionism is the wonderful ray of the instant.
